  • Through the work of archaeologists, we are drawn closer to ancient peoples, and by seeing the remains of their settlements and the objects they made, we can perceive them as persons with the same needs and emotions we have.

    Digging Up a Buried Town

    This slide presentation portrays the excavation from 1926 to 1935 of Tell en-Nasbeh by William F. Badè, who was then professor of Old Testament at Pacific School of Religion. These slides of the excavation were re-photographed from the Museum's collection of several hundred 3" by 4" hand-colored glass slides taken at the time of the dig. Other slides in the set were made in-house from the Museum's artifact collection.
